JOAQUÍN URBINA
Graduated graphic designer from Caracas, Venezuela.
In 2001, having moved to Barcelona, Joaquin founded and, for the next 13 years, directed NO-DOMAIN, a studio that brought a new organic voice to the motion graphics landscape of that moment. Specialised in AV mixed-media projects for TV, advertising and music videos, NO-DOMAIN won numerous Spanish and international awards and was recognised by Stashmedia, Motionographer, Vimeo Staff Picks, Onedotzero, Ciclope and Art Of The Title.
Simultaneously, Joaquin has been passionately involved in live visual creation, with a special sensibility for music and sound narratives, a field that has constantly fed his visual explorations. His work has been showcased in festivals and cultural institutions such as Sonar, Unsound, Mapping, Mis, Funkhaus Berlin, Lev and Cccb, among many others.
He also creates and performs electronic music, running his own synth-wave project POLA TOG.
Joaquin has given lectures and workshops in design festivals and art schools such as Offf, Blanc, Mad, Adc*Tulsa and Elisava.
